Kent Kestrels 24 Exeter Falcons 12 (12th August 2018)

Sadly our second away fixture of the weekend was not so fruitful.  The Falcons lost away to the Kestrels 12:24.  This means that the Kent Kestrels are the winners of the 2018 Southern Development League.  Many congratulations to all involved with the Kestrels.  We now have an anxious wait to see whether the Falcons will finish 2nd in the league but this will depend on the outcome of the meeting between Kent Kestrels and Reading Racers.

Exeter scorers:  Adam Sheppard 6; Max Pankhurst 1; James Chattin 0; Nick Laurence 5

Weymouth Wildcats 12 Exeter Falcons 24 (11th August 2018)

A comfortable away win at Eastbourne against opponents Weymouth Wildcats.   It was great to have James Chattin  back with us following his return from significant injuries back in early June.  Sadly, Mick Sutton was unable to make the meeting having broken down en route and so we were grateful to Nick Laurence who stepped in at very short notice.

Weymouth scorers:-  Bailey Fellows 2; Connor Fletcher 0; Dan Gilkes 9; James Jessop 1

Exeter scorers: – Max Pankhurst 5; Nick Laurence 8; Adam Sheppard 6; James Chattin 5

Exeter Falcons 18 Reading Racers 12 (27th July 2018)

We completed our final home fixture in the Southern Development League with another great win over the Reading Racers.  Unfortunately, we lost the services of another squad member on Friday night – Macauley Leek who is Plymouth Devil’s number 6 and doubles up for the Falcons unfortunately suffered a broken collarbone in Plymouth’s main meeting against Buxton and will be out of action for a few weeks.  Sam Woolley kindly stepped in at the last minute scoring a valuable 5 points.  Due to Plymouth’s time curfew, the meeting was halted after the fifth heat with the score standing at 18- 12 to the Falcons.

We have two away meetings to complete and we will need to win both of them if we are to stand any chance of winning the title this year.  .

EXETER FALCONS:  Adam Sheppard 5 (2,3); Max Pankhurst 6 (1,2,3); Sam Wooley (G) 5 (3,2); Mick Sutton 2 (0,1,1)

READING RACERS:  Corban Pavitt 6 (3,3); Rhys Laker 0 (0,0,0); Jamie Bursill 3 (2,1); Stephen Whitehouse 3 (1,0,2)

Exeter Falcons 17 Kent Kestrels 18 (29th June 2018)

After a very tough meeting in temperatures reaching 30 degrees the Falcons’ winning streak came to an end by just a one point loss to the Kestrels. The track was difficult and the meeting was full of falls. Very well done to Macauley Leek our top scorer with six points and Max Pankhurst who consciously avoided the rider falling right in front of him.

Exeter Falcons 20 Isle of Wight Wizards 16 (8th June 2018)

Falcons secured their lead in the Southern Development League defeating Wizards tonight 20:16 despite loosing a rider just before their first race.  Great to see Adam Sheppard back on the bike in Falcons colours following a two year spell on the sidelines with a nasty foot injury.  Hats off to James Chattin our maximum man ( 9 points ) and time of the day achiever (56.69s).  James won the last heat re-run on his own following the controversial exclusion of Saul Bulley.

Exeter scorers:  Saul Bulley 6; James Chattin 9; Adam Sheppard 5+1

Isle of Wight scorers:  Chris Watts 7; Morgan Williams 2+1; Ben Ilsley 5+1; James Luckman 2+1

National League Four Team Tournament Challenge 31/05/2018

The Exeter Chris Richards Falcons have been invited to take part in a National League Four Team Tournament Challenge on the Isle of Wight on Thursday 31st May – 7pm start.  Our opponents will be two teams from the Isle of Wight (The Warriors and The Wizards) and Weymouth Wildcats.

Exeter based and Plymouth Devil’s star Henry Atkins will wear the Falcons’ race jacket alongside 16 year old Tom Brennan and Kelsey Dugard, both from Eastbourne with Ryan Terry-Daley, also from Plymouth making up the quartet.

It would be great to see some Exeter Supporters cheering us on, on the island.
