Rob and Alan, the driving force behind the return of Exeter speedway, are two successful local businessmen from Exmouth striving towards their goal of bringing speedway back to the City.
Rob’s involvement with speedway first started in 1969 as a supporter and from 1984 to date he has been involved at club level starting off as a Raker, progressing to Assistant Track Curator, Environmental Officer, Pits Marshall, Clerk of the Course and now joint Team Manager of the Falcons. Rob has also helped to promote special meetings and looked after several overseas riders.
Alan has been going to speedway since the age of 3. He started riding at amateur level in 1987. He rode until he had a serious accident whilst taking part in a grasstrack meeting in 1999. He has always been interested in helping riders break into the sport especially over the last couple of years as joint Team Manager of the Falcons.
They have been close friends for many many years and together they are building for the future in bringing on young riders to help them fulfill their dreams of becoming professional speedway riders. Whilst bringing on these youngsters, Exeter Falcons remains very much in the public eye by arranging second half development level challange meetings out of The Oaktree Arena, Somerset. To that end, we are grateful to the promotion of Somerset Speedway for the use of their track throughout the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
We will update you as and when there are any further developments on our own track via this website and our facebook page.
